Surface Materials : Asked to spec sustainable and green materials for floors, walls and work surfaces in a creative office suite. I created a bright and lively concept inspired by the Nina Simone song "Feeling Good" that would impress clients and employees alike.
Surface Materials : In order to create a medically safe space for this dental practice, I used materials for work surfaces and wall coverings that were non-porous and non-toxic, and seamless in laboratory areas. Centering my design around brass, an alloy of copper that is naturally anti-microbial, I created a space that was both warm and gave a feeling of safety and serenity. For this project, two materials for each surface were requested in order to fulfill the ideal design as well as offer a backup budget-friendly design that did not sacrifice style.
Color Theory and Application : To create three theoretical redesigns I chose to focus on the restaurant Joy, in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, and created monochrome, complementary and triadic color scheme pitches that incorporated the history and culture of the restaurant.
